Buhari Makes Two New Appointments.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has announced two new appointments. In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 27, the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) confirmed the appointment of Tijjani Yahaya Kaura as Managing Director of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA). Buhari also consented to the appointment of Mr Augustine Chukwu Umahi as Secretary of Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The two appointees would serve for an initial term of three and four years respectively. While congratulating the new appointees, President Buhari also approved the re-appointment of Captain Junaid Abdullahi as the Executive Secretary of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), for a final four-year term.

The statement reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the following new appointments: Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, Managing Director of Oil & Gas Free Zones Authority, for an initial term of three (3) years effective from18th July;

“Mr Augustine Chukwu Umahi, Secretary, Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation & Fiscal Commission for an initial term of four (4) years from 6th July 2022.

“Also, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the renewal of the appointment of Captain Junaid Abdullahi, Executive Secretary, Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), for a final term of four (4) years with effect from22nd September 2022.

“The President congratulates all the appointees and urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their appointments.”
