Kano music front figure ‘Don R’ A.k.A Arewafinext brings strange view of music through his recent tweet, as he directly said;
“Music penetrates almost every part of our lives: our rest, our entertainment, our education, and our worship. Music both shapes and reflects society. MUSIC CAN UNITE US IN AREWA, NIGERIA AND THE WORLD AT LARGE.”
His tweet means alot, but he’s trying show the significance of music in bringing people together without looking at skin colour, tribe, background or language. May this could be one of his reasons of saying that. Usually music took away the feeling differentiation, as you will be wondering Hausa people listening to Yoruba Musicians like olamide, Reminisce, oladips etc. Or Igbo Musicians like Phyno, Zoro, Flavour etc. Despite the fact that all are different from their tribe and language. This case is universal not only in Nigeria. There is popular Quote saying “Music is a universal language”, meaning everyone listen and understand it. The more Good music is. The easier to understand.
But can music really Unite Nigeria ?
