Republic Day 2024: Airspace Restrictions in Delhi for 11 Days Starting January 19. New Delhi: The national capital will experience airspace restrictions for 11 days, commencing January 19, in preparation for Republic Day celebrations, according to an official statement.
These restrictions, effective until January 29, will not affect regularly scheduled flights. However, non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines and chartered flights won’t be allowed to land or take off from 10 am to 1:15 pm between January 19 and 25, as announced by the official on Tuesday.
As outlined in the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the restrictions will be applicable from 6 am to 9 pm during January 26 to 29. NOTAMs are crucial notices providing essential information for those involved in flight operations.
The official assured that these restrictions will not impact the movement of scheduled flights operated by airline operators. Additionally, IAF, BSF, Army aviation helicopter operations, and state-owned aircraft/helicopters flying with the Governor/Chief Minister of a state will remain unaffected by the NOTAM.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the country’s largest airport located in the national capital, handles approximately 1,300 flights daily.
