SpaceX’s Elon Musk Agrees to Provide Starlink in Gaza Strip. Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, has agreed to provide Starlink communications in the war-torn Gaza Strip, according to an announcement by Israel’s Communications Minister, Shlomo Karhi.
The agreement states that the Starlink satellite units can operate in Israel and Gaza Strip after receiving approval from the Communications Ministry. Karhi highlighted the importance of this agreement in creating a better world free from evil and anti-Semitism for future generations.
Starlink is a project launched by Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, which aims to provide high-speed internet access worldwide through a satellite internet constellation. The project, initiated in 2019, currently has over 5,000 mass-produced small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) as of November 2023. In September 2023, Starlink had already gained 2 million subscribers.
Unlike traditional internet that relies on cables or copper wires, Starlink uses satellite signals to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet to users globally. While some concerns have been raised by astronomers regarding the impact of the satellite constellation on ground-based astronomy, SpaceX has implemented measures to reduce the brightness of the satellites during operation. Additionally, the satellites have advanced features that allow them to autonomously avoid collisions and safely de-orbit after their useful life.
In other news, several major companies, including Apple, Disney, IBM, Lionsgate, and Paramount, have recently paused their advertising spending on X (formerly Twitter). This decision was made due to concerns that their advertisements were appearing alongside antisemitic tweets. This has added to X’s ongoing economic crisis, as the company heavily relies on advertising revenue and has faced challenges under Musk’s leadership.
